Very Berry Compote Recipe [gf]
Ingredients
500g Organic Frozen or Fresh Mixed Berries
½ Orange Medium Slices (Unpeeled)
½ Orange Juice
1 Orange Zest
¾ Cup Coconut Sugar (Or Brown Sugar)
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste Or 1 Vanilla Pod (Cut in ½)
   
Makes 4-6 Serves
Preparation & Cooking 35 Minutes
Method
  • Combine all ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat and bring to a light boil.
  • Simmer for 20 minutes or until berries have started to break down. Stir occasionally.
  • Remove from stove and cool.
  • Refrigerate (or freeze) until ready to serve or store away for later. Stays fresh for up to a week!

 

Suggested Use
  • Dessert Cup – Berry Compote, Crumble & Yoghurt Cups.
  • Traditionally served warm, but it’s great when chilled too!
  • Spoon it over Muesli or Oatmeal.
  • Ladle it on top of ice cream.
  • Top pancakes with it.
  • Make a delicious smoothie or milkshake.

 

This delicious compote recipe is quick to make and so good! You’ll simply love the taste and texture. It goes beautifully with your muesli, yogurt cup, dessert, scones, ice cream and even cheesecake. Yum!
